Take a stroll with Sondheim

The Franklin College Theatre Department present popular tunes from one of America’s most prolific musical theater composers this week.

Stephen Sondheim’s “Side By Side By Sondheim” is on stage at 8 p.m. today through Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday in Théâtre Margot in the Johnson Center for Fine Arts, located at the corner of Branigin Boulevard and Grizzly Drive.

Sondheim has been at the forefront of musical theatre composition for the last half century. The award-winning revue of his earlier work, including “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum,” “Gypsy,” “A Little Night Music,” “Company,” and “West Side Story,” consists of more than 20 unforgettable songs.

The cast and crew is made up of almost 20 Franklin College students and faculty.
