FRANKLIN

Robert E. “Bob” Patterson, 74, of Franklin, a lifelong Johnson County resident, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2016, at his residence.

He was born Nov. 18, 1941, in Franklin, to Lawrence “Chick” and Dorothy A. (Martin) Patterson.

He had been a self-employed contractor and mechanic for several years.

He enjoyed woodworking, attending sales at the Franklin Auction and studying the Bible.

He was a member of Whiteland Jubilee Masonic Lodge 746.

Survivors include his three daughters, Pamela Stewart (Dennis) of Bargersville, Lori Kolish (Robert) of Bloomington and Christie Newby (David) of Plainfield; grandchildren, Ashlyn Couch (Chad) of Franklin, Alec DeWitt (Ashlyn) of Morgantown, Emily Mallory (Nowell) of Bargersville, Anna DeWitt of Bloomington, Charles Stewart of Bargersville, Abby DeWitt of Bloomington, Allison Newby and Madison Newby, both of Plainfield; great-grandchild, Alijah Dewitt, son of Alec and Ashlyn of Morgantown; former spouse, Gay (Martin) Patterson of Franklin; niece, Lisa Davis of Chicago; nephew, Michael Davis of Greenwood; great-nephews, Hayden and Landon Davis; and great-niece, Izabella Davis, all of Indianapolis.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Candy Patterson; and a sister, Sharon Caylor.

The Rev. Rick Henry will conduct a service at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 S. U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the mortuary. Burial will be at Second Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Franklin.
