GREENWOOD
Noel Douglas Gibbs, 60, of Greenwood, passed away at his home Monday, Oct. 3, 2016.
He was born June 19, 1956, in Gainesville, Georgia, to Jimmy D. and Helen (Free) Gibbs.
Noel was a U.S. Army veteran.
He received an associate’s degree in computers from Ivy Tech and worked as a program tester at Eli Lilly and Co.
He was an avid Georgia Bulldogs football fan, and he loved to do crossword and jigsaw puzzles.
Noel married the former Riva Benz on June 14, 1985, in Anne Arundel, Maryland, and she survives along with his mother, Helen; sons, Zachary (Whitney) Gibbs of Greenwood, Jason (Julianna) Gibbs of Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, and Jefferson Gibbs of Greenwood; brother, Scott (Jennifer) Gibbs, and sister, Vickie (Richard) White, both of Gainesville, Georgia.
He was preceded in death by his father.
A celebration of life service will be held at a later date in Gainesville, Georgia.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Johnson County Humane Society, 3827 Graham Road, Franklin, IN 46131.
