Center Grove Elementary School has a new interim principal.
Jim Halik, a retired superintendent, was named the school’s interim principal during the transition to a new principal.
Halik has worked as a principal and teacher in several school districts, including New Palestine, Perry Township, Franklin and Center Grove as a middle school principal.
The school’s former principal, Shannon Carroll-Frey, accepted the position of assistant director of secondary teaching and learning for the school district.
The search for a permanent principal has begun, and staff and parents will be involved in the search process.
