Copper wire, other items taken from construction site

Copper wire and fittings, propane tanks and other items were stolen from a Meijer construction site in Franklin.

Multiple storage lockers were broken into overnight Monday at the construction site at 2300 U.S. 31 with the use of either power tools or heavy duty pry bars to remove the locks, according to the Franklin Police Department report.

Items stolen from the lockers included propane tanks, about 10 gloves and a box of safety glasses.

A five-gallon bucket of copper fittings worth $300 and 150 feet of copper wire also worth $300 were stolen, the report said.

The damage to the storage containers will cost $2,000 to $3,000 to repair, the report said.
