Eva L. (Schrougham) Ford

Eva L. (Schrougham) Ford, 91, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, Oct. 1, 2016, at Greenwood Meadows. She was a resident of Greenwood.

Eva was born March 23, 1925, in Nashville, to the late Omar and Alta R. (Clark) Schrougham. She attended Helmsburg High School in Brown County. Eva married Floyd W. Ford on Aug. 2, 1941, in Nashville. He lovingly survives after 75 years of marriage.

Eva also is survived by her children, Donna L. (Elmer) Schott of Brown County and F. Keith (Judy) Ford of Paragon; siblings, Pete (Doris) Schrougham of Nashville and Max (Veda) Schrougham of Trafalgar; grandchildren, Eric Baker of Bargersville, Thomas K. (Amanda) Baker of Whiteland and Anna M. (Jim) Voyles and Lisa Kinnaird, both of Martinsville; great-grandchildren, Paisley Baker of Greenwood, Allison Baker and Aaron Baker, both of Whiteland, Zachary Voyles of Seymour, Maggie Voyles, Brandon Kinnaird and Tyler Kinnaird, all of Martinsville.

She was preceded in death by siblings, Fanetta Johnson and Merrill, Clovis, Raymond, Warren and Ralph Schrougham.

Eva was a loving mother, homemaker and a devoted preacher’s wife. She attended the South Meridian Church of God in Indianapolis and was a former member of the Goshen Church in Brown County, Brown County Church of God, Linton Church of God and the Martinsville Church of God. Eva enjoyed wintering with her husband, both in Leesburg and Frost Proof, Florida. She was an avid reader, loved her family and enjoyed cooking and baking.

The Rev. Leroy Collins will conduct a funeral service at 11 a.m. Thursday at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry St., Morgantown. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Entombment will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.
