Man faces theft, counterfeiting charges

A Franklin man was arrested after police found counterfeiting items in his vehicle.

William Eugene Dillard, 33, was arrested on counterfeiting and theft charges Thursday in Seymour.

Police got a call about a theft at Walmart and then stopped a vehicle matching the one described in the theft. Officers searched Dillard’s vehicle and found several bags that contained evidence of printed counterfeit money, supplies to print counterfeit money, such as paper and printing cartridges, and homemade counterfeit money templates, according to police.

Dillard gave the Jackson County jail a home address in Franklin, but told Seymour police he had been living in the area for several weeks, police said.
