DAYTON, Texas — Authorities say nine students have been slightly hurt when their school bus and an SUV collided near a Houston-area school.

A statement from the Dayton Independent School District says the children were transported by ambulance for treatment of minor injuries following Thursday morning’s accident.

Investigators are trying to determine what caused the collision in Dayton, about 30 miles northeast of Houston.

The SUV ended up on its side. The bus remained upright during the wreck that district officials say happened in front of Dayton High School.
