NEW YORK — Police say they’ve taken a man into custody after his roommate was stabbed to death in New York City.

Police say officers responding to a 911 call Wednesday night found a 26-year-old woman with multiple stab wounds in the Ridgewood neighborhood of Queens.

The woman was taken to a hospital where she was declared dead. Her name is being withheld until her family can be notified.

Police say her roommate, who hasn’t been identified, had stabbed himself in the leg and was taken to a hospital. He was listed in stable condition and remains in police custody.
