Brass band to perform

Celebrating Indiana

The Franklin-based Crossroads Brass Band will perform a special concert next week at Greenwood United Methodist Church that will celebrate Indiana’s birthday.

The band will perform in concert at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the church, 525 N. Madison Ave., Greenwood.

Musicians will play a selection of music with about half devoted to the Indiana Bicentennial.

This group is a nonprofit ensemble styled after the British brass bands that were popular in Great Britain in the 18th century; they became popular during the American Civil War era.

There will be no charge for the concert, but a free will offering will be appreciated. In addition, free refreshments will be available.
