ANDOVER, N.H. — A pilot whose helicopter crashed and burst into flames in a wooded area of Andover, New Hampshire, is being treated for injuries not considered to be life-threatening.

State police say the helicopter crashed before dawn Tuesday. They say the pilot was the only person aboard and was able to get out of the downed chopper and call for help.

Firefighters extinguished the flames. The pilot was taken to a hospital in Concord (KAHN’-kard).

State troopers and Andover police have secured the crash site.

The cause of the crash is unknown. The crash is under investigation by the Federal Aviation Administration, the National Transportation Safety Board and the state Division of Aeronautics.
