GREENWOOD
Margaret A. (Lauer) McMahon, 94, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016, at her daughter’s home in Greenwood.
She was born Jan. 12, 1922, in Indianapolis, to E. Regis and Mary Frances (Malone) Lauer.
Marge graduated from St. Mary Academy in 1940 and married the love of her life, Fran McMahon, on Oct. 26, 1946.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fran; and their son, Patrick J. McMahon.
She is survived by her three daughters, Mary Fran Guilfoy (Kevin) and Phyllis Guilfoy (Paul), both of Greenwood, and Teresa Ehalt (Jim) of Springfield, Ohio; brother, F. Leroy Lauer of Florida; and her daughter-in-law, Beth (Wilhem) McMahon.
Marge loved being with her 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Marge was employed by SMT Guild for 20 years.
She enjoyed teaching line dancing and watching Notre Dame football.
She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. A special thanks to Kindred Hospice for their care and compassion.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Daniel F. O’Riley Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church with calling at the church beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
