Braves hammer Edgewood, 56-13

Indian Creek has now won three of its last four games after posting an impressive 56-13 win at Edgewood on Friday night.

Racing to a 37-0 halftime lead, the Braves, now 3-3, dominated throughout in what coach Mike Gillin called his team’s best overall performance of the season.

“We hit on all cylinders,” Gillin said. “Taylor Voris threw the ball really well, and our defense shut down their running game.

“I could see this coming. Even though we lost last week (23-18 at Triton Central) I thought we played well. I wanted us to get off to a good start against Edgewood, and that’s what they did.”

Voris, the junior quarterback, set the tone early by throwing a touchdown pass on the game’s very first play to junior receiver Brad Triestch. Senior Bryce Hogue scored two first-half touchdowns himself for Indian Creek.

Indian Creek returns home next week to host Cascade.
