INDEPENDENCE, Mo. — A standoff that started after police found a fatally wounded man has ended with two arrests in suburban Kansas City.

The Kansas City Star ( ) reports that the victim was found late Thursday and rushed to a hospital, where he died.

Officers tracked two suspects to an apartment building. Police say one person surrendered, but the other refused, leading to the standoff. The second person was taken into custody around 3:25 a.m. Friday.

No other details were immediately released, including the names of the victims.
