Jeffrey G. James

NEW WHITELAND

Jeffrey G. James, 55, of New Whiteland, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2016.

He was born in Illinois on April 15, 1961, to Marion Ray James and Janet (Tennis) James, who survive.

He is also survived by wife, Sandra (Demeter) James; daughter, Laura (Jonathan) Bergdoll; son, Kevin (Shana Dennis) James; grandson, John Bergdoll; grandmother, Marjorie (Pool) Tennis; brothers, David (Norma) James and Daniel (Karen) James, sister, Cheryl (Jeff) Kingsbury; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jeff graduated from Homestead High School in 1979 and from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (cum laude) in 1983. He and Sandy married June 25, 1983. He was retired from Indiana Department of Transportation due to disability from colon cancer. A member of Our Lady of the Greenwood Church, he was also a fourth degree knight in the Knights of Columbus. During his life, Jeff was a basketball referee for IHSAA and owned several Standardbred racehorses.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancer Society.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today at Our Lady of the Greenwood Church. A funeral mass will 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.
