Dan R. Beach

Dan R. Beach, 74, passed away Wednesday evening, Sept. 21, 2016, at his residence in Whiteland.

He was born on Oct. 8, 1941, in Bowling Green, Kentucky to William Edgar and Velma Earlene (Bogle) Beach.

Dan married Kathryn L. “Kitty” (Mendenhall) Beach on Nov. 24, 1981. She lovingly survives.

He is also survived by two sons, Daniel R. Beach of Indianapolis, and Christopher A. (Tricia) Beach of Morgantown, Kentucky; two daughters, Brooke E. Beach of Beech Grove and Courtney R. Byrd of Whiteland; seven grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Eldon T. “Tommy” (Carol) Beach of Martinsville and Michael W. (Tammy) Beach of Beech Grove; and two sisters, Margaret Ann Hood and Patricia Booher, both of Knightstown.

He was preceded in passing by his parents; son, Jeffery B. Beach; brother, James W. Beach; and grandson, Tyler Jordan Beach.

He attended Harry E. Wood High School.

Dan was employed by American Art and Clay. He later was employed for 20 years with Ford Motor Company. He was a truck driver and later was self-employed in floor care.

Dan was devoted to serving God in gospel music ministry where he was a member of the Masters Quartet and His Design Quartet. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed martial arts.

Pastor Marion Glover will conduct a celebration of Dan’s life at 7:30 p.m. today at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton Street, (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to service time at the funeral home. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
