GLENDALE, Ariz. — Authorities say a former high school teacher in Glendale has been arrested for allegedly having a sexual relationship with a female student in 2011.

Glendale police say 53-year-old Allen Scott Johnson was taken into custody Thursday on suspicion of three counts of sexual conduct with a minor.

Bond was set at $500,000 at Johnson’s initial court appearance Friday. He doesn’t have an attorney yet.

Johnson was employed by Cactus High School from January 2010 through December 2012.

Police say Johnson allegedly had a sexual relationship with a then 17-year-old student between January and July of 2011.

Johnson currently is a teacher at Paradise Valley High School.

He’s been placed on administrative leave by school officials while the police investigation is ongoing.
