Johnson County’s unemployment rate increased slightly last month.
The August rate was 3.8 percent, which was up from the last month and last year.
In July, the rate was 3.5 percent. And in August 2015, the rate was 3.7 percent, according to a monthly report from the Indiana Department of Workforce Development.
The same trend was true for counties across central Indiana.
Across the state and nation, the rate was down slightly.
The national rate was 4.9 percent, the same as in July, and down from a rate of 5.1 percent in August 2015, according to the report.
The state rate was 4.5 percent, which was down from a rate of 4.6 percent in July and in August 2015, the report said.
