GERONIMO, Okla. — The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation says a 3-month-old girl died after being left in a vehicle for at least nine hours.

The OSBI said Wednesday that Mame Neta Attocknie was in the custody of foster parents when she died Tuesday in Geronimo.

Investigators say the foster father didn’t drop off the child at daycare Tuesday morning after he took his son to school. The foster mother went to the daycare Tuesday afternoon and discovered the infant wasn’t there.

Minutes before the foster mother called the foster father, he sent his son to a store in the vehicle with the child still strapped in a car seat. The OSBI says the foster parents went to the store and found the girl dead in the vehicle.

No arrests have been made.
