ELKHART, Ind. — Elkhart police say two men who were killed in a shooting have been identified as brothers who recently moved to the city from Saginaw, Michigan.

Police say 29-year-old Antonio McClain and 25-year-old Anthony McClain were found lying at the bottom of a staircase outside a home Tuesday afternoon.

Police spokesman Sgt. Chris Snyder said the McClains were involved in an altercation that escalated into gunfire.

Police say statements from witnesses led to a person of interest being identified and interviewed, but no arrests had been made as of Wednesday afternoon.

The shooting occurred in the State-Division neighborhood, which is on the National Register of Historic Places.
