ITTA BENA, Miss. — An attempted robbery in Leflore County ended in gunplay Saturday night, leaving two Moorhead men dead and a third man charged with murder.

The Greenwood Commonwealth (http://bit.ly/2cXPaHT) reports 27-year-old Juan Conrod and 21-year-old Lavensky McGee died as Conrod attempted a robbery.

Leflore County Sheriff Ricky Banks says Conrod knew another man would be collecting a debt and showed up with a gun wearing a mask. Banks says Conrod fatally wounded McGee as the two exchanged shots. Banks tells WAPT-TV (http://bit.ly/2dffrDL) that Lavensky McGee’s brother, Tyon McGee, then got out and shot Conrod in the head as Conrod lay on the ground wounded. Banks says McGee has confessed. Raphael Luckett and Tavaris Pitts — each shot in the leg — were treated at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.
