Parents can get their child car seats inspected at an event later this month.
Franciscan St. Francis Health-Indianapolis is offering free child car seat inspections with certified technicians from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in the parking lot of Franciscan St. Francis Weight Loss Center, 5230-A E. Stop 11 Road, Indianapolis.
The hospital is partnering with the Automotive Safety Program at the Indiana University School of Medicine and the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute for this event. Seats will be checked based on National Highway Safety Administration guidelines.
If unable to visit the inspection sites, adults can arrange for free inspections by calling the hospital at 317-528-5774 or the Automotive Safety Program toll-free at 800-KID-N-CAR.
Children’s car seats will be provided to families who can prove they receive public assistance, and the child must be present.
