EDINBURGH
JoAnn Michaels, 69, of South Pleasant Street, Edinburgh, went to live with Jesus at 4:50 p.m. Thursday Sept. 15, 2016, at Community North Hospital in Indianapolis.
JoAnn was born July 1, 1947, in the home she still resided in in Edinburgh, the daughter of Loren W. and Dessie R. Burton. She married Donald E. Michaels on Jan. 30, 1966.
JoAnn was a member of the Apostolic Tabernacle of Edinburgh. She was the owner of Columbus Weight Loss Clinic for 30 years, and loved spending time with her family and friends, the real center of her heart. A wonderful and vivacious woman, JoAnn will be greatly missed by all that were blessed to meet her.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, at the Apostolic Tabernacle of Edinburgh with the Rev. Mark Myers officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the church and one hour prior to the service Tuesday. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
Survivors include a son, Clinton (Cynthia) Michaels of Edinburgh; a daughter, Dessica “Dustie” Sharp of Edinburgh; a sister, Edell Roberts of Edinburgh; and grandchildren, Brooke, Desirae and Alyssa Michaels, Tyler Money, and Dustin Sharp.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald, on Jan. 13, 2014; and a grandson, Jason “Jake” Michaels.
Services were entrusted to the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.
