ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — An Atlantic City councilman is pushing the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority to help the owner for the former Revel casino reopen the property.

The Press of Atlantic City reports (http://bit.ly/2d0FOhv ) Councilman Kaleem Shabazz wrote a letter to CRDA Executive Director John Palmieri on Wednesday saying he hopes accommodations can be made for Revel. It’s seeking a land-use permit from the authority.

Owner Glenn Straub recently accused the authority and other state agencies of holding up the Revel reopening after he was questioned about landscape improvements.

Shabazz says the city needs jobs, revenue and activity and, while he appreciates the need to follow regulations, he hopes an accommodation can be made for Revel development.
