KINGSTON, N.H. — A New Hampshire salon is offering free shampoos to residents who are feeling the effects of a drought.

Elation Salon owner Lori Farmer is offering the shampoos to help residents cope. And the fire station has invited residents to come get water from them.
Kingston is in a section of New England that is facing extreme drought conditions. The federal government’s drought-monitoring center says the area’s rainfall over the past six months has been about half of what it normally is.
The town near the Massachusetts border is facing some water restrictions and an outdoor use ban.
