Glennon Edward Molitor

MORGANTOWN

Glennon Edward Molitor, 77, Morgantown, passed away Monday, Sept. 12, 2016.

Born May 7, 1939, in St. Paul, Missouri, to August Molitor Sr. and Florence (Hoeckelmann) Molitor, he was a founding member of SS Francis & Clare Catholic Church and 4th degree Bishop Chatard Assembly and Knights of Columbus Greenwood Council No. 6138.

He enlisted in the Coast Guard in 1958, where he spent eight years in the Reserves. He retired from Matco Tools.

An avid golfer, he was a St. Louis Cardinals fan. He took pride in and enjoyed maintaining his home.

Survivors include his wife, Audrey (Bruning) Molitor; children, Kevin E. (Susan) Molitor, Jan (Steve) Gasper, Cheryl Gaudian and Dana (Travis) Compton; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Gerald, Richard, Michael, William and Conrad Molitor; and sisters, Mary Ann Rhodes, Florence Joerling, Jane Huddleston and Loretta Bruns.

He was preceded in death by siblings, Robert Molitor, August Molitor Jr. and Elizabeth Thompson.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at G. H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home at The Gardens at Olive Branch, 1605 S. State Road 135. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday at SS Francis & Clare Catholic Church, 5901 W. Olive Branch Road, Greenwood. Burial will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
