CLARKSVILLE, Ark. — Authorities say one person was killed and eight others injured in a multi-vehicle crash on a bridge crossing the Arkansas River in the western part of the state.

Arkansas State Police say the incident happened Wednesday afternoon on the Arkansas 109 bridge connecting Johnson and Logan counties. According to a preliminary report, a chain-reaction crash involving three vehicles occurred when one vehicle stalled on the river bridge.

State police say 46-year-old Robin Freeman of Clarksville died in the collision. Four others in her vehicle were injured, including two juveniles. Four other people, including the driver of the stalled vehicle, were injured as well.
