Girls golf

Grizzly Cubs tie Shelbyville

Franklin Community finished in a 205-205 deadlock with Shelbyville on Tuesday at Bear Chase Golf Course.

Picking up medalist honors for the Grizzly Cubs was junior Avery Auton with a 46. Carding Franklin’s other top scores were Taylor Drake with a 52, Kylee Burnside’s 53, Kristina Young with a 54 and a 56 from Rachel Pinnick.

Schier’s 39 leads Center Grove

Senior Shelby Schier scored a 39 to lead Center Grove to a winning score of 170 at Dye’s Walk.

A distant second in the three-way meet was North Central with a 209, while Warren Central posted a final tally of 269.

Senior Hannah Wilson shot 41 for the Trojans, while Lucy Young had a 44. Ashley Voyles came through with a 46, Kirby Swails a 51 and Sydney Castellanos a 53.

Rebels too much for Golden Bears

Roncalli defeated Shelbyville 208-243 at Bear Chase Golf Course on Monday. Leading the Rebels were Annie Sullivan and Sophia Egold.

Boys soccer

Trojans pick up conference win

Dawson Raymond scored two goals and Luke Boha and Connor Campbell one apiece as Center Grove downed Pike 4-1.

Assists for the Trojans came from Campbell, Gus Caito, Ben Derose and Griffin Smith.

Franklin keeps rolling

Franklin Community ran its record to 4-0 in the Mid-State Conference standings with a 6-1 win against visiting Martinsville.

Grizzly Cubs goals were scored by Joe Nerding, Owen Atkison, Ryan Clendening, Robert Velasquez, Wyatt Taylor and Fernando Lopez-Perez.

Sam VanderVeen recorded two assists for the winners. Nerding, Atkison and Garrett Snyder also assisted on goals, while senior goalkeeper Austin Barnard stepped up with eight saves.

Cougars improve to 7-2

Greenwood Christian Academy, fueled by goals from nine different players, blanked Anderson Prep Academy, 14-0.

Junior Gerrit Huizinga led the way for the Cougars with three goals and two assists; scoring two goals apiece were Camden Peters, Ethan Chupp and George Apgar. Also breaking into the scoring column were Josue Meir, Danny Wilson, Andrew Butcher, Cayden Bauschek and Payton Modlin.

Wilson led in assists with three. Griffin Huizinga, Peters and Gavin McCabe contributed two each.

Picking up the win in goal was senior Jackson Cross.

Volleyball

Mooresville beats Warriors in four

Host Mooresville picked up a Mid-State Conference victory against Whiteland, 25-18, 25-27, 25-21, 25-4.

Elaina Robards had 12 digs for the Warriors, while Hannah Williams finished with 10 digs and Tabby Holzhausen 16 assists.

Roncalli tops Chatard

Victoria Annee came through with 17 digs for Roncalli in its 25-19, 25-14, 25-17 victory over Chatard on Monday.

Also for the Rebels, Grace Hegwood finished with 14 kills.

Boys tennis

Lancers downed by Triton Central

Triton Central defeated Edinburgh, 4-1, as No. 2 player Coltan Henderson picked up the Lancers’ lone point.

Henderson defeated Wyatt Felling, 6-2, 2-6, 10-4.

Coming close to picking up a second point for Edinburgh was the No. 2 doubles tandem of Kegan Jones and Braden Hancock. They lost by a score of 7-6 (7-5), 6-4.
