Fundraiser will benefit cancer patient

Supporters of a young Franklin woman with colon cancer have planned a chili supper fundraiser to help support her and her family.

The event to benefit Jessica Brunning is from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Creekside Elementary School, 700 E. State Road 144, Franklin. The supper will also include an auction, carnival, games and raffles, with all proceeds helping Brunning with medical costs associated with her cancer treatment.

Tickets to the supper are $10 for everyone age 11 and up, $5 for children ages 3 to 10, and free for kids younger than 3.

Brunning, the co-owner of  Elite Salon & Spa, was recently diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer. She is a young mother of two girls, Lauren, 11, and Brenna, 6, and wife of Brad Brunning.

Friends had originally planned a fundraiser for her Aug. 13 at the Franklin Family Aquatic Center, but storms forced the event to be cancelled.
