A southside hospital is getting a new name as part of a re-branding effort.
Franciscan Health Indianapolis will be the new name for Franciscan St. Francis Health-Indianapolis as of next week.
Franciscan Alliance is changing the name of its health care system to Franciscan Health as part of an effort to provide clarity and emphasize the connections between its hospitals, according to a news release.
The last time the name was changed was November 2015. Prior to that it was St. Francis Hospital & Health Centers.
“Our patients have been informed. This should have no effect on the kind of care and services they would expect from our hospitals,” spokesperson Joe Stuteville said.
Signs and materials will be updated over time to reflect the new name, he said.
