KENNER, La. — Authorities in the New Orleans suburb of Kenner say a 43-year-old woman has died in a morning house fire.

In a news release, Kenner Fire Chief John Hellmers said firefighters were called to the fire at 8:07 a.m. Friday. A body was found on a bedroom floor.

The woman’s name was being withheld while relatives were notified.

The fire was out about an hour after firefighters arrived. Hellmers said the cause is not yet known but foul play is not suspected.

Hellmers said that there were no smoke alarms in the one-story home.
