Joan Marie Edwards Duvall, 86, of Indianapolis, passed away on Monday, Aug. 29, 2016.
She was born on Jan. 2, 1930, in Indianapolis, to Roy and Maybelle (Hensley) Edwards.
Joan graduated from Arsenal Technical High School and attended Butler University.
In 1955 she was married to Richard E. Duvall, who passed away in 1997. Her family was the light of her life.
She was retired from Indiana University Dental School, where she was the secretary of the Endodontic Department.
She loved to travel and enjoyed playing tennis.
Joan is survived by her daughters, Marcia Lynn (Larry) Davidson and Jill Adrienne (Gary) Hedges; grandsons, Ted (Ashely) Davidson, Ben (Kristyn) Davidson, Nicholas Ryan Hedges and Brody Lee Hedges; and great-grandchildren, Reid, Remy, Miles and Banks Davidson.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Road 135, Greenwood. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday at the mortuary. Graveside services will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
