A catastrophe has hit Nashville, and it’s up to one little boy to save his town.
That’s the plot of author Jodi Scheve’s newest children’s book.
Scheve co-owns Twisted Wick Candle Company in Nashville with her husband, Rich. “Richie Saves Nashville” is her third book.

Her first book, “The Cow Jumped Over the ABCs,” taught upper- and lower-case letters. Her second book, “The Sand Crabs Journey Home,” taught counting to 100. “
“Richie Saves Nashville” is about problem-solving skills, Scheve said.
“This book is very fun for kids to learn that they can do big things even though they are small,” she said.
The book features illustrations by local artist and musician Kara Barnard.
Q: How does this book differ, if any, from your previous works?
A: This book has more of a story line. This book teaches kids to use their problem-solving skills to overcome a challenge.
Q: What’s your writing ritual? In what environment do you work best?
A: A lot of my ideas come to me while I am hanging out with my boys, Richie, 6, and Jude, 6 months. I like to write in a quiet, peaceful setting.
Q: What’s the last book you read? Do you have a favorite?
The last book I read was “The Geography of Bliss” by Eric Weiner. My favorite book is “How to Win Friends and Influence People” by Dale Carnegie.
