Katherinee Janice Jones, 90, of Franklin, passed away at her home Sunday, Aug. 21, 2016. She was surrounded by her family.

She was born Oct. 17, 1925 in Borden, to Robert S. Mull and Beatrice Lamb Matlock Mull.

Katherinee married the love of her life, Walter Donald Jones, on Nov. 12, 1943; he preceded her in death on July 11, 2015.

Katherinee was a real estate broker for 30 years with Coldwell Banker Jim Williams Realty. She was also a developer, and a successful businesswoman. She and her husband Walter owned and developed Jones subdivision and Stonybrook estates in Franklin, and Katherinee co-owned and developed with her husband, Jefferson Meadows subdivision with Jim and Jeanette Williams.

Katherine, along with her husband, was a partner in five Steak n’ Shake restaurants in Tennessee and Georgia.

Katherinee was a member of Tabernacle Christian Church, Franklin, a past worthy matron of Franklin Chapter OES No. 439; past president and secretary of CWF, and past president of Hilltop Group, Tabernacle Christian Church; 4-H leader of Hopewell Girls for several years; and past PTA president.

She is survived by her daughters, Karen Lee Gimian (Allan) of Montclair, Virginia, Sharon Kay DeWitt (Donn) of Franklin and Jan Elizabeth Reichel (Bruce) of Franklin, IN; grandchildren Chad VanEtten, Casey VanEtten, Jennifer Reichel Morey (Nick), Todd Gimian, Tara Gimian, Walter Jones, Homer Jones and Jennie Jean Katherinee Jones; and six great-grandchildren. Katherinee is also survived by a brother, Donald W. Mull (Gwen) of Greenwood; and several nieces and nephews.

Katherinee was preceded in death by her parents, Robert S. and Beatrice Lamb Matlock Mull; her son, Thomas Douglas Jones; two brothers, William M. Mull and Erman W. Mull, and two sisters Anna I. Jones and A. Pauline Gaither.

The Rev. William C. Horner will conduct a celebration of life service at 10 a.m. Saturday at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 U.S. 31 South (Morton Street) Franklin, with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, to follow. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, with an Order of Eastern Star service to be conducted at 7 p.m.
