Roger Allen Brown

KANSAS CITY, Kan.

Roger Allen Brown, 63, passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2016 in Kansas. He was a resident of Kansas City, Kansas. He was a former resident of Johnson County.

He was born on Sept. 30, 1952 in Franklin to Iliff I. Brown and Marie (Thomas) Brown.

Roger is survived by two sisters, Pamela Brown (George) Munz of Phoenix, Arizona and Patricia B. (Michael) Brown of Indianapolis; nieces and nephews, George Munz Jr. of Phoenix, Avril Munz (Doug) Sammis of Lompoc, California, Emily Munz (Gilbert) Rios of Phoenix, Morgan Munz of Phoenix,  Zachary I. Brown of Chicago, Illinois and Erin C. Brown (Eli) Hannoy of McCordsville; and cousins, David (Madonna) Hall of Indianapolis, James Hall and Cindy Bowman, both of Grapevine, Texas and Bill (Jane) Pierce of Elijay, Georgia.

He was preceded in passing by his parents.

He was a graduate of Whiteland High School and attended Indiana University.

Roger’s career was in hospitality management.

He held many hotel managerial positions over the years from 1975 until May 2016 in a variety of locations — Orlando; Atlanta; Houston; Jackson, Mississippi; Indianapolis; Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Macon, Georgia; Tucson, Arizona; Boise, Idaho; Tallahassee, Florida and Winston Salem, North Carolina.

He was a member of the Franklin Masonic Lodge No. 107, F&AM; the Rotary club in Kansas City, Kansas and Kappa Sigma Fraternity at IU.

A gathering for family and friends will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton St. (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin.
