Margot K. Calhoun

Margot K. Calhoun, 88, of Greenwood, passed away Saturday, Aug. 20, 2016.

She was born Feb. 14, 1928, in Heidelberg, Germany to the late Karl (Lina Ohnmacht) and Frieda Ziegler Weidenhammer.

Margot married Thomas Calhoun on Oct. 5, 1948, in Heidelberg, Germany.

He preceded her in passing on Jan. 25, 2009, after 61 years of marriage.

She began her career working for Herff Jones in Indianapolis, then L.S. Ayres in Greenwood Park Mall for 27 years, retiring in 1992.

Margot is survived by her son, T. Steven Calhoun of Trafalgar; daughter, Tamera (Keith) Owens of Grand Haven, Michigan; three grandchildren, Hannah Owens, Nathanael Owens and Emily (Nathan) Rollins; special niece, Diane Calhoun; and special friends, Randy Hughey and Louise Tyler.

She was preceded in passing by her husband; parents; and infant daughter, Virginia Pauline “Ginney” Calhoun. Also preceding Margot were two sisters, Frieda Aden and Liselotte Meyer, both in Germany.

Services for Margot will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center. Visitation will be 3 p.m. until the time of service Thursday at the mortuary. Private interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
