Arne Kenneth Akers, 69, passed away at his residence Friday, Aug. 12, 2016, in Franklin.
He was born June 15, 1947, in Paluski, Virginia to Herman and Ann (Sayers) Akers.
He married Carol Carpenter, who survives.
Other survivors include his children, Carrie (Adam) McKee, Aaron (Colleen) Akers and Brian Akers; grandchildren, Logan, Adrian, Eden, Gavin, Cameron and Dawson; two sisters, Jean (Mort) Scrougham and Shirley (Ed) Christiensen; and one brother, Wallace (Carol) Akers.
He was preceded in passing by his parents.
Arne attended school in Virginia.
Arne was employed by Dan Paris, where he worked as an auto-body technician, painting cars.
He enjoyed racing at Bean Blossom and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton St. (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
