George W. Ruddick

GREENWOOD

George W. Ruddick, 85, of Greenwood, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2016, at Greenwood Health and Living Community.

He was born Jan. 27, 1931, in Seymour, to the late Elmer and Elizabeth (Marsh) Ruddick.

George graduated from Shields High School in Seymour, and Lain Technical Institute in Indianapolis.

He served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.

He was employed by the City of Greenwood as building commissioner for 17 years.

He was the owner of Modular Structures Inc. in Indianapolis.

George was a member of the Elks Lodge in Franklin, and of Garfield Park United Church of Christ.

George is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Bramlett Ruddick; sons, Stephen (Deborah) Ruddick of McCordsville and Bryan (Denise) Ruddick of Noblesville; five grandchildren, Alex William, Elizabeth Kate, Paige Ann, Samuel Joseph and Jennah Nadine Ruddick; sister, Ruth Helen (Harold) Sweany; and several nieces and nephews.

George was preceded in death by his brothers, Francis and Harold Ruddick; and a sister, Betty Topie Mosher.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, 481 W. Main St., Greenwood, with Pastor Mark Radke officiating. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
