EDINBURGH
Christine Orner, 83, of Edinburgh, passed away on Friday, Aug. 12, 2016, at Homeview Health and Rehabilitation Center in Franklin.
She was born on Aug. 2, 1933, in Hart County, Kentucky. She was the daughter of Oscar and Bessie (Allen) Burton.
She married Donald E. Orner on Feb. 3, 1951. He preceded her in death on Jan. 22, 1999.
She is survived by a grandson, Ronald “Chip” Orner of Franklin, a granddaughter, Cynthia Kay (Clinton) Michaels of Edinburgh; a sister, Linnie (Max McClain) McCorkle of Indianapolis; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Ronald E. Orner; brothers, Owen “Bud” Burton, Robert Burton, James Burton and Leonard Burton, sisters, Emma Hadley, Delta Warren, Dollie Streeval and Alta Wheeler.
She was a member of Who-So-Ever-Will Community Church in Edinburgh.
She retired from Bob-O-Link Liquors after more than 20 years.
The funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Tuesday by the Rev. Lewis Burton at Who-So-Ever-Will Community Church. Calling will be from 10 a.m. until time of service at the church. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
