Halcie Pearl (Throckmorton) Buckner

INDIANAPOLIS

Halcie Pearl (Throckmorton) Buckner, 93, of Whiteland, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 11, 2016, in Indianapolis.

She was born Aug. 26, 1922, in Morgantown to Joseph and Grace (Young) Throckmorton.

Pearl married Acy William Buckner in October of 1940.

She was a retired Avon representative and sold Avon for 25 years.

She belonged to the President Club while selling Avon.

She enjoyed crocheting afghans, word search books and taking trips to the Smokey Mountains. She loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her two children, William J. (Laverne) Buckner of Indianapolis and Betty L. (David) Dyer of Greenwood; two sisters, Elsie Richhart and Marguerite Richhart, both of Franklin; a brother, Richard (Cathy) Throckmorton of Veedersburg, Indiana; four grandchildren, Scott (Angela), Krista (Don), Jonathan and Jodi; four great-grandchildren, Andrew, Amelia, Cassandra and Kelsey; and one great-great-granddaughter, Brooklyn.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four brothers, Edward, Howard, Allen and Joe Throckmorton, a sister, Dorothy Cummings; a grandson, Jerry Buckner; and a great-granddaughter, Brianna Dyer.

A funeral service will be conducted at noon Monday at Jessen Funeral Home, Whiteland Chapel, 729 U.S. 31 North, with visitation from 10 a.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Bluff Creek Cemetery in Bargersville.
