The sheriff’s office is investigating the deaths of two people found in a vehicle in southern Johnson County.

A man watching deer in the Atterbury Fish and Wildlife Area about 7 a.m. Saturday spotted the two people in the bed of a pickup truck on County Road 550S, west of Schoolhouse Road, according to a news release from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office.
The man went to check on the people, saw blood and called police, the release said.
Emergency workers determined the man and woman were dead, the release said. The two have been identified, but the sheriff’s office had not released their names as of Saturday evening because their families had not been identified.
Sheriff Doug Cox said investigators are not looking for a suspect in the deaths. The Department of Natural Resources is assisting in the investigation, he said.
