New real estate broker announced

RE/MAX Results real estate office in Greenwood has welcomed a new broker.Nicole Locke recently joined the office of real estate professionals.

New physician joins local offices

Dr. Soo H. Park has joined Indiana Heart Physicians, a Franciscan Physician Network practice. Park will provide care in Columbus, Greensburg and Indianapolis.Park has more than 25 years of cardiology experience. He is board-certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology.

Park was clinical assistant professor of medicine at the University of Illinois School of Medicine. He has worked as the department head of cardiology at Carle Clinic where he was also the medical director of the noninvasive vascular laboratory.

Office names top mortgage originator

Residential mortgage lender Ruoff Home Mortgage announced that Donnie Dodson was the top loan originator for the Greenwood office in July. The top spot in each branch office, as well as the company, is based on the number of closed loans during the month.Dodson has been with Ruoff Home Mortgage since May 2015. He has won the top company-wide spot several times, including last month. The Greenwood office is at 972 Emerson Parkway, Suite C.

Foundation raises money for children

Indiana Members Foundation, the charitable arm of Indiana Members Credit Union, hosted its eighth annual golf outing at Valle Vista Golf Course in Greenwood on June 29.The event raised more than $29,000 to benefit the foundation, whose mission is to support children in the Indianapolis and surrounding communities through the Joan Wolfe Legacy Grant Program, Indy BackPack Attack School Supply Drive, and local non-profits that serve youth in the communities in which Indiana Members Credit Union serves.

2 area residents on paralegal board

The Indiana Paralegal Association conducted its annual swearing-in and awards ceremony at the Sheraton Indianapolis City Center in late July. The featured guest speaker was Judge Robyn L. Moberly, chief judge of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court — Southern District of Indiana.The officers and directors of the association serve on the board of directors. The board consists of four officers and 12 directors. These 16 paralegals volunteer their time to serve a one-year term.

Elected officers included Lottie Wathen of Edinburgh as secretary. Wathan works at Whitham, Hebenstreit & Zubek, LLP.

Newly appointed directors included Robert Cooper of Greenwood. He is employed at Pavlack Law LLC. Cooper also received the New Member of the Year Award.

Real estate office under construction

F.C. Tucker Company recently began construction on its new south office at 195 N. Emerson Ave., Greenwood.The building is slated to be finished by the end of the year. The one-story, 7,000-square-foot office will feature modern, comfortable working spaces, multiple meeting rooms, an outdoor patio and technology amenities. The space will accommodate 65 associates and will allow their staff to grow from their previous location that had room for 42.

In June, the south office moved from its previous location at 705 S. State Road 135 to a temporary location at 1675 W. Smith Valley Road until construction of the new building is complete.

U-Haul service added to Edinburgh area

C&M Specialty Automotive LLC is now offering U-Haul vehicle service to serve the Edinburgh community.C&M Specialty Automotive, 8003 S. U.S. 31, will offer U-Haul trucks, trailers, towing equipment, support rental items and in-store pickup for boxes.

You Are The Artist coming to Greenwood

A new art studio is opening later this month in Greenwood.The owner, Theresa Taylor, has taught art classes for 15 years and works with a variety of fine arts mediums.

You Are The Artist, 200 E. Main St. Suite C, Greenwood, will host an open house from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 27.

Businesses invited to marketing training

The Franklin Chamber of Commerce will host a marketing workshop with Franklin College Director of Marketing Theresa Lehman and Kelly Anderson, owner of 185 Promotions and Apparel.The discussion will focus on marketing strategies, promotion tips and advice to increase the visibility of businesses. The workshop will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Sept. 6 in the Henderson Conference Room in the Johnson Center for Fine Arts at Franklin College.

This event is open to the public. The cost to attend is $25 for individuals who are employed by a chamber member business ($35 for non-members) and includes a continental breakfast.
