NORTH VERNON
Arthur E. Anderson, 90, of North Vernon, formerly of Franklin, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2016, at St. Vincent Jennings Hospital.
Born June 5, 1926, in Jacksonville, Florida, Arthur was the son of Arthur and Carolyn (Henson) Anderson.
Arthur served in the U.S. Navy and was employed by United Telephone Co. as a service technician.
He enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing, diving and animals.
Survivors include a son, Sidney Anderson of Jacksonville, Florida, three daughters, Debbie White of Jacksonville, Florida, Lisa Anderson of St. Augustine, Florida, and Pam Lane of North Vernon; a brother, Earl Anderson of Marietta, Georgia; five grandchildren, Jenni White, Catherine Douangnouanexay and Lauren, Tori and Emma Lane.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Jean Hauschild.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Jennings County 4-H Livestock or Freedom Hunt Southern Swing.
A funeral service will be conducted at 7 p.m. on Sunday at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service,115 S. State St., North Vernon. Rev. Tom Mattingly will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until the time of the service.
