Search underway for inmate mistakenly released

The sheriff’s office is looking for a man who was mistakenly released from jail.

Blaine Hansen, 20, was sentenced to a year-and-a-half in a state prison. But before he was transferred to a prison, he was accidentally released from the Johnson County jail, Sheriff Doug Cox said.

The sheriff’s office has been looking for Hansen since last month, and suspect he is in Indianapolis.

Anyone with information on his where Hansen might be is asked to call the sheriff’s office tip line at 317-346-4654.
