FRANKLIN
Mrs. Christeen Brown, 87, formerly of Richmond, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2016.
She was born Dec. 25, 1928, in Richmond, to Walter E. and Ruth Hoover Mikesell, who preceded her in death.
She was a graduate of Whitewater High School and Earlham College.
Mrs. Brown was formerly a secretary at Perfect Circle. She taught English at Williamsburg High School. She later was a sales representative for Leiters Designer Fabrics and sales director and representative for Mary Kay Cosmetics. She was a member of West Richmond Friends Meeting.
Mrs. Brown was a member and Past President of Tri Kappa Sorority, Delta Zeta Chapter; Past Vice-Chairperson of the Wayne County Republican Party and a member of the Dayton, Ohio Kennel Club.
She always enjoyed a round of golf and was a member of Forest Hills Country Club, Richmond Women’s Golf Association and the Eastern Indiana Women’s Golf Association.
Mrs. Brown will be missed by her husband of 65 years, Robert F. “Bob” Brown; daughter, Lora Brown Money; sister, Martha Mikesell Wood; and one niece and three nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Smith & McQuiston Funeral Home, 321 U.S. 27 South, Fountain City.
