Watercolor artist in spotlight

The Southside Art League presents watercolor paintings by Marianna Kegley Richards for its August artist spotlight.

Richards’ work will be on display in SALI’s Off Broadway Gallery through Aug. 31. The public is invited to meet the artist during an open house from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday.

With a long career in secondary education and school communications in her background, Richards began painting instruction through the Indianapolis Art Center more than 12 years ago.

She is a Signature Member of the Watercolor Society of Indiana and has exhibited in its juried shows as well as earned recognition through the IAC and Indiana State Fair. The Greater Greenwood Arts Council selected her painting of sunflowers for the label on its second artist series wine in collaboration with Mallow Run Winery.
