Thefts from vehicles, barn reported

The sheriff’s office is investigating multiple thefts in two different areas of the county.

The thefts were reported Thursday in the areas of Whiteland and Hurricane roads, and in the El Dorado neighborhood near Stones Crossing and State Road 135.

Investigators do not believe the thefts are related, according to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office.

The three thefts near Hurricane and Whiteland roads involved five vehicles that were rifled through and a barn. Thieves stole a CB radio, a phone charger, headphones and medication, according to the reports.

In the El Dorado neighborhood, thieves stole cash from a purse left in a vehicle and a stereo from another vehicle, the reports said.

The thefts are believed to have happened late Wednesday or early Thursday.
