City OKs money for repairs

Greenwood approved spending $190,000 to repair two city properties.

City council members approved spending $100,000 to repair the parking lot at the fire department headquarters building, located at 155 E. Main St.

Work was started on the lot last year, but cost more than expected because concrete work was needed. So more money was needed this year to finish the job, Greenwood Fire Chief Darin Hoggatt said.

The city council also approved spending $90,000 on the portion of the city center building that is leased to PNC Bank.

That portion of the building needs a new roof and a new air conditioning pump.
