Hospital hosting public blood drive

Franciscan St. Francis Health-Indianapolis will host a nine-hour blood drive Friday.

The drive will be 7 a.m. to noon and 4 to 8 p.m. in the Terrace Conference Room at the hospital, 8111 Emerson Ave., Indianapolis.

The drive is open to the public. Pre-registration is preferred, but walk-ins also are welcome.

Donors should expect the process to take about an hour, which includes a mini-physical and a 15-minute resting period with complimentary snacks after donating.

Those with questions about their eligibility can email [email protected]. To register, visit DonorPoint.org and click “Schedule to Donate.” Search “Franciscan” and make an appointment. Those donating should bring a photo ID and be sure to have eaten something prior to donation.
