INDIANAPOLIS
James “Jim” Goins, Jr., 87, of Indianapolis, went to be with his Lord on Thursday, July 28, 2016.
He was born March 11, 1929, in Indianapolis to the late James and Nancy (Jones) Goins Sr. He was a member of Gray Road Baptist Church and worked at Amtrak as a chief engineer for 41½ years.
Jim married Nina (English) Goins on Jan. 10, 1948, and she survives after 68 years of marriage.
Other survivors include sons, Gary (Jeanette) Goins and Kevin (Sherri) Goins; daughters, Sharon (Lee) Allen and Sandy (Dale) Glonski; brothers, Harry (Barbara) Goins and Kenny (Kathy) Goins; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by siblings, John Goins, Ray Goins, Jane Goins and Aggie Glaze.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Stirling-Gerber Chapel, 5950 E. Thompson Road, Indianapolis. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial at Rocklane Cemetery.
